Pomona Lake is located near the Santa Fe Trail. This 4,000-acre lake features scenic beauty as well as an abundance of wildlife. Pomona Lake also offers over 300 campsites, and over 20 miles of multi-use trail. Seven campgrounds are conveniently located around Pomona Lake. The Corps manages six of these campgrounds: Outlet, Michigan Valley, Wolf Creek, 110-Mile, Cedar, and Carbolyn. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks manages Pomona State Park campground. User fees are charged for camping in parks that the Corps of Engineers operates. The amount of the fee is based on the type of facilities provided. Holders of Golden Age and Golden Access Passports receive a 50 percent discount on the camping fees in the Corps-managed areas. Campgrounds contain level campsites, many with electrical hookups, lantern hanging posts, picnic tables, and fire rings. Shower buildings, sanitary dump stations, playgrounds are located in most parks.
